        OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Fifth-ranked Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis got singles victories from Kyra Akinnibi, Mbali Langa, Amira Bergaoui and McKenna Wheatley to defeat third-ranked Southeastern (Fla.) 4-2 Saturday evening in the semifinals of the ITA NAIA National Indoor Championships.
        It was the first time in 10 years that the Gold Nuggets defeated an NAIA top-3 opponent on the road.
        XULA (2-0) will play top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
        Akinnibi clinched on court three with her 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-3 victory against Flaminia Guidantoni. Langa won 6-2, 6-4 on court one against Martina Picardi, Bergaoui won 6-2, 6-0 against Neleah Neiberline on court two, and Wheatley won 6-1, 6-1 against Simone Simas on court four.
        Langa and Wheatley won in singles for the second consecutive day.
