MARION, Ind. — Xavier University of Louisiana earned Friday 14 All-America awards — eight by the women, six by the men — on the final day of NAIA outdoor track and field nationals.
        The women's honorees:
        •  Fedjine Bell in the 1,600-meter relay.
        •  Nevaeh Lacey in the 400 relay.
        •  Jaelyn Mitchell in the 400 relay and 1,600 relay.
        •  Vanessa Oladapo in the 1,600 relay.
        •  Hannah Stoutmire in the 400 relay.
        •  Kynnedy Turner in the 400 relay and 1,600 relay.
        The men's honorees:
        •  Seth Alexander in the triple jump.
        •  Caydon Carpenter in the 1,600 relay.
        •  Blake Harris in the triple jump.
        •  Daunté Kelly in the 1,600 relay.
        •  Juston Tweh in the 1,600 relay.
        •  Winston Young in the 1,600 relay.
The Gold Rush scored 10 points to tie for 26th place out of 135 teams. The Gold Nuggets scored five points to tie for 39th out of 114 teams.
Carpenter replaced Jaheene Bell, who ran Friday in the preliminaries.
"The season had lots of ups and downs and twists and turns," said sixth-year head coach Yhann Plummer. "I'm OK with how things turned out. Fourteen All-America plaques, which is great, but it's time to rebuild. I am thankful for all the support — campus administrators Curtis Wright and Darryl Keller, and athletic administrators Pat Kendrick, Carlette Reeves, Clayton Simmons, Patrick Gary, Rae Campbell and Ed Cassiere, and trainer Spencer Perreault.
"I thank Xavier's other coaches for helping to coordinate transportation, and for their encouragement. To my coaching staff, Andrew Kidd and Darrick Williams, thank you for a wonderful, record-breaking season. I'm looking forward to doing it again next season and doing it better. To our athletes, thanks for working hard and pushing through to the end. See you next season, and be ready to work hard again."
In April both XULA teams won Red River Athletic Conference team championships, and both teams set RRAC records for winning margin.
