NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's three-game baseball series at LSU-Alexandria will start one day earlier because of expected rain later in the week. The new schedule:
        •  Thursday, Feb. 13, 7 p.m. at Don Boniol Field (Alexandria Senior High School, 800 Ola St.)
        •  Friday, Feb. 14, 1 p.m. doubleheader at LSUA's Generals Baseball Field
        The National Weather Service forecast for Alexandria calls for a high of 54 degrees Thursday and wind gusts from the north as high as 20 mph. Friday there is a 30-percent chance of rain showers after noon. Chance of rain Saturday — the orginal doubleheader date — is 70 percent.
        It will be the first Red River Athletic Conference series for both teams. XULA is 1-2, and LSUA is 4-7.
