         NEW ORLEANS — NAIA No. 8 Xavier University of Louisiana opened a four-match women's tennis home stand Thursday by beating Hope International 4-0 — the Gold Nuggets' fifth victory in their last six matches.
         Hana Moss and Mbali Langa won in doubles snd singles for XULA (7-7). Moss clinched for XULA on the third singles court with her 6-1, 6-2 victory against Nicole Escamillo.
         Moss and Sanai LeSure defeated Catrina Hibbard and Melody Kilonzo 6-0 on court three to clinch the doubles point.
         Langa and Asadah Ma'at beat Eva Echeverri and Merrit Dubourdieu 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, and Langa won 6-1, 6-0 against Echeverri at No. 1 singles.
         Amira Bergaoui won 6-2, 6-0 against Ellie Black at No. 2 singles.
         Hope International is 2-7.
         The Gold Nuggets will play host to NAIA No. 19 SCAD Atlanta at 2 p.m. Friday.
