        ALEXANDRIA, La. — NAIA No. 11 Xavier University of Louisiana got doubles and singles victories Thursday from Asadah Ma'at and Mbali Langa in a 4-1 women's tennis victory against Texas Wesleyan on opening day of the LSUA Tournament.
        Langa and Ma'at defeated Paulina Hudson and Kaja Brunzlow 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. In singles, Langa defeated Zeynep Ege 6-1, 3-6, 6-2, and Ma'at clinched at No. 3 with her 1-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory against Hudson.
        Hana Moss and Sanai LeSure won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles against Carla Arce Fernandez and Ege.
        The Rams — 5-7 and losers of four straight — had only five players available, but no forfeits figured in team scoring. Both doubles matches and all five singles matches were worth one point apiece.
        The Gold Nuggets (10-8) won their third straight and their eighth in the last 10 matches.
