        SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana 4-2 Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.
        The Gold Nuggets (12-9), ranked 12th in the NAIA, will play 20th-ranked Our Lady of the Lake at 9 a.m. CDT Friday in the semifinals at Blossom Tennis Center. The championship round will be Saturday.
        XULA's Mbali Langa and McKenna Wheatley, No. 1 in the ITA NAIA doubles rankings, defeated Emmanouela Besi and Ana Gonzalez 6-3 to clinch the doubles point. Amira Bergaoui clinched the match with her 6-2, 7-5 victory against Gonzalez at No. 1 singles.
        The Gold Nuggets seek their third consecutive RRAC Tournament championship.
