METAIRIE, La. — Referees suspended the Xavier University of Louisiana-University of the Southwest Red River Athletic Conference men's soccer game Saturday at Lafreniere Park because of unsportsmanlike conduct.
The referees stopped play with 3:28 remaining in the first half and XULA leading 2-0.
There is no information yet on if this game will be resumed.
Gold Rush goals leader
Iman Ouedraogo scored in the 23rd minute with an assist from
Guilherme Domingues, then XULA scored in the 29th minute on
Artur Rubim's goal and an assist from
Antonio Merola.
Next for the Gold Rush — 4-1-1 overall, 1-0 RRAC and ranked 18th in the NAIA — will be 3:30 p.m. conference road games against Texas A&M-San Antonio Thursday and Our Lady of the Lake Saturday.
Southwest's Mustangs are 1-3-1 and 0-1.
