Women's Tennis Improves to No. 4 in national rankings

The Xavier women's tennis team improved by two huge slots in the most recent release of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings.

XULA (8-4), which had previously ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, moved into the No. 4 position in the March 12 ITA release.

Three women's singles and a doubles pair also found themselves in the nation's Top 50.

Maja Brnic and McKenna Wheatley, Xavier's No. 1 doubles team, had the most impressive showing and are ranked No. 3 nationally.

Brnic is also rated as a Top 10 singles player, currently checking in at No. 7. Wheatley is ranked No. 32, and Ana Sabikova No. 34 in the individual category.

The next ITA rankings will be released on March 26.
