Brnic earns RRAC Player of Week honors

WACO, Texas (March 9, 2026) – The Red River Athletic Conference announced Monday that XULA student-athletie Maja Brnic as the Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the dates of March 2-8. This is the fourth set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC tennis season.

Brnic led XULA to a 4-0 win over (16) Dillard (La.). She and partner McKenna Wheatley won their doubles match against Danielle Pitchlyn and Yiran Chen 6-0. She won her singles match against Weichiao Chen 6-4, 7-6, 2-0.

She also led the Gold Nuggets to a 4-0 victory over (17) OLLU. In her doubles match with McKenna against Anja Pisar and Maéva Chambon, they won 6-1. She marked a win in singles over Carolina Guerrero 6-3, 6-1.

Freshman Brnic is a native of Croatia. In ITA singles, she is ranked 12th, and she and McKenna are ranked fourth in doubles.

XULA is ranked sixth in the ITA and sixth in the most recent NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
