Bell blazes into 400-hurdle finals at NAIA Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Xavier hurdler Jaheene Bell entered the day among the favorites in his signature event. He left with that status well in hand.

Bell posted the second-best time in the 400-meter hurdles at the NAIA Outdoor Championships, and will now race in the finals on Friday at 3:20 Central.

On Wednesday, Bell completed his run in 50.66 seconds, his fastest effort of the season, as well as the second-best time in the NAIA and 4th-best among all HBCUs this season.

The Gold Rush will be represented in two events Thursday.

Freshman Karri Noel will run in the 400-meter prelims at 3:20 p.m., and the 4X400 relay team of Bell, Noel, Tremanie Hamilton, and D'Kirian Allen will cap the evening with a preliminary run at 7:45.
