2 XULA athletes win medals, 5 earn All-America at NAIA Championships finale

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Five XULA Track and Field Athletes earned All-American honors in a combined four events on the final day of the NAIA Outdoor National Championships.

Two Xavier athletes are bringing medals back to the Crescent City.

Jaheene Bell took home silver in his signature race, posting a 50.46 in the 400-meter hurdles. It was the second-best time all season in the NAIA and the fifth-best among HBCU athletes.

On the women's side, Rochelle Jeffries took a national bronze in the 100-meter hurdles, running a personal-best 13.86.

Karri Noel, already an All-American in the indoor 400, became an All-American in the outdoor version of the race, placing seventh with a run of 49.62. Not bad for a true freshman.

Bell and Noel were All-Americans in two events apiece. Both athletes ran a leg for the 4X400 relay team and were joined by Tremanie Hamilton and D'Kirian Allen in eighth place in the final.

The full NAIA Outdoor results for all days and rounds are available on the AthleticLive website.
