NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
will enter day two of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA South Regional
Championships with nine singles players and two doubles still alive in the main draw.
Advancing to the men's singles quarterfinals were
Santiago Perez,
Sebastian Perez,
Samir Chikhaoui and
Juan Batalla of the Gold Rush.
Advancing to the women's singles round of 16 were the Gold Nuggets'
Angela Charles-Alfred,
Lailaa Bashir,
Lacee Ancar,
Yi Chen Pao and
Farah Baklouti. The XULA women also sent two
teams — Baklouti and Pao, Charles-Alfred and Bashir — to the doubles quarterfinals.
Play will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday at City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center.
Sunday finals will be played at XULA Tennis Center.
