Xavier University of Louisiana freshman
Lejaune George ran 8,000 meters in 27 minutes,
51.4 seconds Friday morning to finish 13th in the men's division of the
Red River Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.
George produced XULA's fastest time at
this distance since
Kwame Jackson (27:15.84) and David Holobowicz (27:35.28)
did it in a 1-2 finish at the 2013 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
The Gold Rush scored 81 points to finish
third out of six teams. Our Lady of the Lake repeated as team champion with
24 points, and Vincent Nchogu of first-year program Texas A&M-Texarkana
won in 24:36.1.

(14th place, 28:14.2),
Damoy Boyd (16th, 28:59.6),
Dominick Baptiste (22nd, 32:12.2)
