NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's DaNya Horne is the Red River Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in women's field a second consecutive time.
        The award was for March 28-April 3, and the RRAC announced it Tuesday.
        Horne — a junior from Omaha, Neb., and a graduate of North High School — competed at the Southern Miss Invitational and met the B-qualifying standard in the discus for NAIA nationals. Horne's mark was 42.41 meters/139 feet, 2 inches, and she placed seventh out of 31 athletes. Horne was 15th in the shot put.
        Horne is No. 16 on the NAIA 2022 list in the discus.
        XULA's women and men will not compete this week. Next for them will be the Southeastern Strawberry Relays April 16 — the day before Easter — at Hammond, La.
