COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Xavier University of Louisiana tennis has five entries — two singles players and three doubles teams — still competing in the main draw of the HBCU National Championships at South Fulton Tennis Center.
Advancing Friday for XULA were:

Nereo Suarez to the men's C singles semifinals.

Jacobi Bain and
VanDer Woody to the men's A doubles final.
•
Valentina Largacha to the women's C singles semifinals.
•
Kareemah Muhammad and
Valaine Clarke to the women's A doubles semifinals.
•
Tianna Dixon and
McKenna Wheatley to the women's B doubles semifinals.
Bain and Woody, top-seeded in their bracket, won 6-4 in the quarterfinals against Tennessee State's Diego Britt-Alvarez and Daniel Caraballo. Muhammad and Clarke, also top-seeded, won 7-6 (7-3) in the quarterfinals against Tennessee State's Warona Mdlulwa and Arua Castillo. Dixon and Wheatley won 6-4 in the quarterfinals against Florida A&M's third-seedeed Sara Rakim and Susan Salinas.
The three-day tournament will conclude Saturday. This is the first of four XULA tournaments during the fall semester.
