Xavier University of Louisiana's
Julius Hell is the Red River Athletic Conference Player
of the Week in men's tennis for the second time this season.
The RRAC announced Tuesday that Hell, a freshman from Pforzheim, Germany,
was the recipient for March 20-26. It's the eighth award in a row for the XULA men.
Hell was the only Gold Rush player to go 3-0 in doubles and 3-0 in singles.
He won twice against West Florida, the seventh-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
His 7-5, 6-0 victory Saturday against the Argonauts' Bernardo Costa was Hell's 11th in a row
in singles. Hell, who enrolled at XULA in January, is 15-1 in singles.
West Florida defeated the Gold Rush 6-1.
XULA won 7-0 against D3 Millsaps and 4-3 against Southern Arkansas, ranked 48th in D2.
The Gold Rush, 13-6 and ranked ninth in the NAIA, will play host to
No. 7 William Carey at noon CDT Saturday at XULA Tennis Center.
