Coaches poll of March 29, 2023
NEW ORLEANS —
It'll be a matchup of top-10 NAIA men's teams this weekend
when Xavier University of Louisiana plays host to William Carey at XULA Tennis Center.
Competition will begin at noon CDT Saturday. Admission always is free to home matches.
XULA was No. 8, and William Carey was No. 7 in the coaches poll announced Wednesday.
The Gold Rush improved one spot from last week.
The Gold Rush (13-6) are:
• In the top 10 for the 15th consecutive time
and the 98th time in the last 101 polls.
• In the top 25 for the 128th consecutive time —
the longest active streak in NAIA men's tennis. That streak began April 4, 2007.
• In the top 20 for the 119th consecutive time.
• In the top 15 for the 114th consecutive time.
The other poll dates this season are April 12 and 26.
It will be the 12th time at XULA Tennis Center, which opened in the
fall of 2012, that the XULA men and their opponent are both in the NAIA top 10. The Gold Rush are 7-3 in those
matchups and won the last seven, four against William Carey.
Also at noon Saturday, XULA's fourth-ranked women will play host to
17th-ranked William Carey.
