Coaches poll of March 29, 2023

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana climbed one spot to No. 4 in the NAIA women's tennis coaches poll announced Wednesday.
        It's the first top-four position for the Gold Nuggets since the preseason poll of Jan. 27, 2022, when they were third. This year XULA started the season sixth and was No. 5 in each of the previous three polls.
        XULA is 18-4, including a 13-match win streak that's the second longest in the program's history. The Gold Nuggets have eight victories this season against ranked NAIA opponents.
        The Gold Nuggets are:
        •  In the top 25 for the 90th consecutive time.
        •  In the top 20 for the 90th consecutive time.
        •  In the top 15 for the 49th consecutive time.
        •  In the top five for the sixth consecutive time.
        This was the fifth poll of the season. A year ago the Gold Nuggets were 15th in the fifth poll.
        Next for XULA will be a noon CDT home match Saturday against NAIA No. 17 William Carey at XULA Tennis Center.
        The other poll dates this season are April 12 and 26.
