Gold Rush move up to No. 7 in NAIA coaches poll

Coaches poll of April 12, 2023

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis climbed from eighth to seventh Wednesday in the NAIA coaches poll.
        The Gold Rush (15-6) swapped places with William Carey, a 4-0 loser at XULA April 1.
        The Gold Rush are:
        •  In the top 10 for the 16th consecutive time and the 99th time in the last 102 polls. Overall its XULA's 100th top-10 appearance in this sport.
        •  In the top 25 for the 129th consecutive time — the longest active streak in NAIA men's tennis. That streak began April 4, 2007.
        •  In the top 20 for the 120th consecutive time.
        •  In the top 15 for the 115th consecutive time.
        The final poll date this season will be April 26.
        The Gold Rush regular-season finale will be a noon Saturday exhibition in Shreveport, La., against two-year Tyler Junior College at the LSU-Shreveport courts. Tyler's Apaches were No. 2 in the most recent ITA NJCAA team rankings. XULA will play host to an NAIA unaffiliated group men's tournament April 20-22 and attempt to qualify automatically for NAIA nationals.
