1 p.m. Sunday: NAIA No. 4 Gold Nuggets play host to No. 3 LSUA

Coaches poll of April 12, 2023

NEW ORLEANS — It'll be a matchup of top-four NAIA women's teams this weekend when Xavier University of Louisiana plays host to LSU-Alexandria at XULA Tennis Center.
Competition will begin at 1 p.m. CDT Sunday. Senior Lindsey Dixon will be recognized in a prematch ceremony. Admission always is free to home matches.
XULA was No. 4, and LSUA was No. 3 in the coaches poll announced Wednesday. The Gold Nuggets and Generals will meet for the first time since Feb. 3, when LSUA won 4-3 in the opening round of the ITA NAIA National Indoor Championships at Overland Park, Kan.
For the first time since 2014 — when No. 1 XULA defeated No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett 5-1 in the final of an NAIA unaffiliated group tournament — and the second time overall, two top-four women's teams will meet at XULA. This is the 11th season of the facility.
XULA is 19-5 with nine victories this season against ranked opponents.
        The Gold Nuggets are:
        •  In the top 25 for the 91st consecutive time.
        •  In the top 20 for the 91st consecutive time.
        •  In the top 15 for the 50th consecutive time.
        •  In the top five for the seventh consecutive time.
This was the sixth poll of the season. A year ago the Gold Nuggets were 13th in the sixth poll.
The final poll date this season will be April 26.
