FARMERS GROVE, Texas —
Xavier University of Louisiana lost 10-9, then 11-9 Friday to Dallas Christian
in a non-conference softball doubleheader.
The Gold Nuggets (8-14) will play
host to Texas College at noon Monday in a Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader at Regala Park
in Reserve, La. Admission is free to all XULA home games.
The Crusaders (11-16)
won the opener with seven runs in the bottom of the seventh, including
Kaylee Brent's grand slam.
Madison Winston and
Amaya Williams had three hits
apiece for XULA.
XULA in the second game scored four
runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth to erase Dallas Christian's 8-0 lead.
But Georgina Carrillo's three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth
put the Crusaders ahead to stay.
Freshman outfielder
Calbey Parker, XULA's season
leader in batting average, was 4-for-4 in the second game.
