Xavier University of Louisiana's
Charity Metcalf is the Red River Athletic Conference Setter of the Week in women's volleyball
for the fourth time this season.
The RRAC announced Tuesday the award,
the fifth of Metcalf's career. Metcalf won each of the last three weeks XULA competed;
the Gold Nuggets did not play the week of Sept. 15-21.
Metcalf, a senior from Greenville, S.C., and a graduate of J.L. Mann High School, ran an offense that hit .179
but still won 2-of-3 matches, including a three-set sweep at city rival Dillard.
Metcalf's totals included 81 assists (8.10 per set), 26 digs and four kills.
Metcalf leads the Gold Nuggets in weekly awards this season.
Taylor Parker has two,
and
Kennedy Campbell and
Kamea Uitenham have one apiece.
The Gold Nuggets (12-4) will open their Red River schedule
in Tyler, Texas, with matches against Texas College at 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
The next home match will start at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 against city rival Loyola at the Convocation Center.
