NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's Ivan Vazquez is the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's tennis for March 3-9.
        The RRAC announced Tuesday the award, Vazquez's first this season and the second of his career.
        Vazquez, a sophomore from Cadiz, Spain, was 4-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles with one unfinished doubles match. Jacobi Bain was Vazquez's partner in both doubles victories.
        Vazquez singles victories included 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) against Phil Louis Steinbichler of NAIA No. 6 William Carey and 6-4, 6-2 against Tatenda Mutetwa of NCAA Division I Tennessee State.
        The Gold Rush won both RRAC awards this season and nine of the last 11 dating to 2024.
