NEW ORLEANS —
Xavier University of Louisiana will play Southeastern (Fla.) at 7 p.m. CST
Friday, March 14 in XULA's Convocation Center in the 2025 NAIA Women's
Basketball National Championship First & Second Rounds, presented by Ballogy.
The NAIA announced Thursday evening the
64-team field and pairings. XULA was announced Feb. 27
as a host site for the early rounds.
The other first-round game will
match William Carey and Lindsey Wilson at 5 p.m. that day. Winners
will meet at 2 p.m. March 15, also at XULA, for the right to advance to the
NAIA Championship Final Site presented by Bomgaars and Sterling at Sioux City, Iowa.
The final four rounds will be played March 20-25.
XULA is 27-3, finished second
in the Red River Athletic Conference at 22-2 and ranked 22nd in the final NAIA
coaches poll. The Gold Nuggets' 18-0 start was the best in program history.
The Gold Nuggets are a No. 6 seed
in the bracket's Cramer Quadrant. Southeastern (24-6) is a No. 11 seed,
William Carey (25-1) is third, and Lindsey Wilson (16-13) is 14th.
The Gold Nuggets qualified for nationals
for the second straight year, the fourth time in five seasons
and the 24th time overall — all in the last 31 seasons. This will be
Bo Browder's 19th appearance at nationals in 26 seasons as XULA head coach.
