NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's Jacobi Bain repeated as Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's tennis.
        The RRAC announced Tuesday that Bain was the winner for April 7-13. The left-handed senior from Nassau, Bahamas, has won twice this season and five times in his career.
        Bain won in doubles and singles Saturday in XULA's 4-3 home loss against NAIA No. 7 William Carey. Bain and Nereo Suarez, No. 13 in the ITA NAIA doubles rankings, won 6-3 against 28th-ranked Islam Orynbassar and Ismoil Hayriddinov. Bain, ranked 28th in singles, won 6-1, 6-4 against 12th-ranked Orynbassar.
        The Gold Rush — 11-8 and ranked eighth in the NAIA — will play Ottawa University Arizona (5-10) no sooner than noon CDT Thursday at Blossom Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas, in the quarterfinals of an NAIA unaffiliated group tournament.
