NEW ORLEANS —
Xavier University of Louisiana women's volleyball earned two Red River Athletic Conference
Player of the Week awards for Aug. 18-24:
Charity Metcalf (setter) and
Kennedy Campbell (defender).
The RRAC announced Tuesday the awards.
Metcalf and Campbell won for the first time this season and the second time in their careers.
Metcalf, a 5-foot-6 senior from Greenville, S.C., and a graduate of J.L. Mann High School, ran an offense that hit .204 in
winning the championship of the Wolf Pack Welcome at city rival Loyola.
Metcalf's totals included 74 assists (6.17 per set), three aces, two blocks and 25 digs.
Campbell, a 6-foot sophomore middle blocker/right-side
from Atlanta, shared team honors with 15 blocks in 12 sets. She had eight digs. Campbell ptoduced a career-best
six blocks against Florida Memorial.
XULA — 4-0 for the first time in the program's 18-year history —
will play four times in its
Big Easy Blastoff
at the Convocation Center. The Gold Nuggets' schedule:
