BATON ROUGE, La. - The Xavier men's and women's track and field teams got the chance to demonstrate their skill against some of the top talent in the state Friday when they participated in the LSU Purple Tiger individual indoor meet. 

The stars of the meet for Xavier were a quintet of sprinters. 

Karri Noel and Kamal Webb placed 5th and 6th in the 400 meters with times of 52.02 and 52.57, respectively. In the women's 400, Taryn Henderson took 6th with a 1:03.29 effort. 

Mahlia Jules took 5th in the 21-sprinter, 200-meter field with a 27.06; on the men's side, Bryson Osborne took 5th with a 23.31. 

Women's sprinter Jaelyn Mitchell placed 7th out of 28 runners in the 60 meters with a time of 7.79. 

In the men's 600-meter, Collin Wright Jr. placed 10th in a 31-runner field and posted the 55th-best run in the NAIA this season with a time of 1:24.10.

Women's long jumper Leojai Hibbert took 11th and registered an HBCU Top 80 score with a 4.93-meter effort. 

In the women's 600-meter run, Chris-Ann Edwards and Jayda Love posted the 63rd and 74th best times in the NAIA this season with respective times of 1:48.65 and 1:51.29. Edwards also posted an NAIA top-80 time of 3:30.72 in the 1,000-meter run.
