Spady earns SSAC weekly award

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After scoring the game-winner in all three of XULA's matches last week, sophomore forward Cole Spady has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 6-11.

Spady, a native of New Orleans and graduate of Isidore Newman, is in his first year with XULA, having transferred in from High Point.

This is his first-career weekly honor for Spady, who finished with 10 points on four goals and two assists.

He had two goals and one assist in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Andrew, with the decisive score coming with under a minute to play. Spady also added one goal and one assist versus Thomas and another score versus Point.

Spady is the second Gold Rush player to win a weekly award this season. Lenno Schmidt was named Defensive Player of the Week in week 2.
