Women's sprinters, hurdlers win big at NOLA Triangular #2

NEW ORLEANS - The Xavier Women's Track team hosted the second of four triangular meets featuring Dillard and Loyola-New Orleans at Tad Gormley Stadium Saturday. 

The Gold Nuggets had their best performances in the speed events. 

Xavier's women swept the podium in the 60-meter hurdles, headed by Ariyah Edwards' 8.81 effort. Rochelle Jeffries (8.86) and Jade Harris (8.90) finished close behind in second and third, respectively. 

In the 60-meter sprint, Jaelyn MItchell finished in a dead heat with Dillar's Tori Burton for first with a time of. 7.62, while Jeffries claimed third in a time of 7.70.

Taryn Henderson was the big winner in the 400, taking first with a time 1:01.98.

Xavier will stay home for its next meet, the third NOLA Triangular, which is scheduled for Saturday at Tad Gormley.
