Eight Xavier men, plus a relay team, are bound for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida, at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
The meet, which will take place March 5-7, can be viewed live on multiple services with which the NAIA has an agreement.
Among the athletes to watch for XULA are junior sprinter Jaheene Bell, a 2025 All-American in the 400, who is now running in the 600.
Bell is also likely to run a leg of the 4X400 relay. Coach Yhann Plummer will have a full complement of eight potential sprinters in the relay, as Collin Wright Jr., Andrew Gillips, Kameron Lloyd, Joshua Aviles, Karri Noel, D'Kirian Allen, and Tremain Hamilton are also on the trip.
The relay team, always a threat to finish in a scoring position on the national level, will be the first up for the Gold Rush, as the 4X400 prelims are scheduled for March 5.
Noel, a freshman standout whose star is fast rising at Xavier, will compete in the 400-meter individual event. Lloyd will also compete in the long jump.
The busiest XULA track star, however, will be Gillips, who has qualified in the 60- and 200-meter races. His preliminary heats in both of those events will be on March 6.
A full list of qualifiers and the schedule of events are both available on the NAIA website.
