The Southern States Athletics Conference has announced that a pair of Xavier indoor track athletes have earned the title of Champions of Character. 

In the postseason awards, the SSAC named men's athlete Jaheene Bell  and women's athlete Jaelyn Mitchell as Xavier's representative on the all-Champions of Character team. 

Since 2000, NAIA member colleges and universities have made ongoing character education and professional development for coaches, athletics staff and student-athletes a priority.

From its inception, NAIA member colleges and universities committed to putting Champions of Character values into play both on and off the field. Hospitality and game management of NAIA athletics events and conduct in competition are guided by Champions of Character principles.

At the conference level, governing bodies routinely recognize those student-athletes who best embody the values of the Champions of Character program.
