NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana sprinter
Kynnedy Turner was selected Red River Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in women's track for April 3-9.
The RRAC announced Tuesday the award.
Turner — a sophomore from Conyers, Ga., and a graduate of Decatur High School — produced A-qualifying times for NAIA nationals in the 100-meter dash and 400-meter relay at the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge, La. Turner won the 100 in 12.01, and she anchored the relay for a third-place finish in 47.43. Turner placed third in the 200 in 24.57.
In the 100 Turner finished ahead of nine NCAA Division I athletes. In the 200 she finished ahead of 13-of-14 DI athletes.
Turner's relay teammates were

Ariel Ford and
Emerald Carter.
This is Turner's first RRAC award.
NAIA nationals will be May 24-26 at Marion, Ind. Next for XULA's women and men will be the Southeastern Strawberry Relays Saturday at Hammond, La. Southeastern Track Complex will be the venue. XULA opted out of the April 22 LSU Alumni Gold meet at Baton Rouge, La.
