Kynnedy Turner wins RRAC award for second consecutive week

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana sprinter Kynnedy Turner is the Red River Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in women's track for the second consecutive week.
The RRAC announced Tuesday that Turner won for April 10-16.
Turner — a sophomore from Conyers, Ga., and a graduate of Decatur High School — finished second in the 400-meter dash in 57.86 seconds Saturday at the Southeastern Strawberry Relays at Hammond, La. That's Turner's best college time at that distance. Seven competed, and Turner finished ahead of four athletes from NCAA Division I. XULA is an NAIA member.
This is Turner's second RRAC weekly award of the season and her career.
Next for XULA's women and men will be the RRAC Championships April 28-29 at San Antonio, Texas. Antonian High School's Ferrara Stadium — 6425 West Ave., zip code 78213 — will be the venue.
