NEW ORLEANS —
Yhann Plummer's number climbed to seven Saturday.
That's how many conference team champions
Plummer has coached in six seasons at Xavier University of Louisiana
after his Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets swept the Red River Athletic track and field titles
at Tad Gormley Stadium.
The Gold Nuggets
won their third consecutive RRAC title with a women's meet record of 392 points.
The Gold Rush
scored an RRAC-record 405 points to win
the men's championship. Plummer was named RRAC Coach of the Year in both divisions.
Both XULA teams set RRAC records for winning margin.
Plummer is 5-for-5 with the XULA women in
winning conference championships, and the men's title was his second in three years.
"It was a record-breaking day, and I'm so proud of the team and their
performances," Plummer said. "They did exactly what I asked of them. I couldn't ask for more. We worked hard all season,
and we stuck to the plan, and we were able to achieve it.
"I also want to recognize all of our graduating seniors and say thank you for trusting me as your head coach
and putting up with me over the last 3-4 years.
