LECOMPTE, La. —
Xavier University of Louisiana's fourth season of intercollegiate softball ended
Saturday with an 11-2 loss to Louisiana Christian in the second round

The game was stopped in the bottom of the fifth inning
because of the eight-run rule.
The eighth-seeded Gold Nuggets finished 0-2 in the tournament
and 13-26 overall.
Madison Winston, announced Friday evening as
first-team All-RRAC, scored both XULA runs.
Caitlin Buford's first-inning groundout brought
home Winston, as did
Calbey Parker's single to center field in the third.
The Wildcats scored five times in the second inning —
two bases-loaded walks and BreAnna Corkern's three-run double down the left-field line.
LCU invoked the mercy rule with a four-run fifth, and Olivia Coaker's two-run homer ended the game.
XULA lost 9-1 in Saturday's opening round to top-seeded and NAIA No. 1 Our Lady of the Lake.
