NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's
Charity Johnson (women's field) and
Breanna Clarke (track) repeated as Red River Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week, this time for March 31-April 6.
The RRAC announced the awards Tuesday.
Johnson — a freshman from Framingham, Mass., and a graduate of Medway High School — finished seventh in the discus (41.23 meters/135 feet, 3 inches) and 14th in the shot put (10.70 meters/35 feet, 1 1/4 inches) at the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge, La.
Clarke — a junior from St. Catharine, Jamaica, and a transfer from two-year South Plains (Texas) College — produced an A-qualifying time for NAIA nationals in the 100-meter dash. Clarke's time was 11.68 seconds, which ranked fifth at the Pelican Relays and is tied for fifth on the 2025 NAIA outdoor list. Clarke also placed seventh in the 100 hurdles (14.39).
XULA's women and men will compete Friday at Southeastern Louisiana University's Strawberry Relays in Hammond.
