NEW ORLEANS — Defending women's champion Xavier University of Louisiana
won six events and leads Our Lady of the Lake by 55 points after Friday's competition in the Red River Athletic Conference
Track and Field Championships at Tad Gormley Stadium.
XULA outscored OLLU 154-99.
The Gold Nuggets seek their eighth consecutive conference team title, their fourth in as many years in the Red River,
and their 11th in their last 12 attempts.
The Gold Nuggets got victories from
Leojai Hibbert in the triple jump,
Breanna Clarke in the 100-meter dash,
Charity Johnson in the discus,
A'Blesin Wilson in the javelin, the 400 relay team of
Jordan Blair, Clarke,
Hannah Stoutmire and
Nevaeh Lacey and the 3,200 relay team of
Skylah Barton,
Dakota West,
Vanessa Oladapo and
Kayla Garrett.
The sprint relay's time of 46.79 seconds is the fourth fastest
in the last 15 RRAC meets. Wilson repeated as javelin champion.
Hibbert led all athletes with 24 points, including
second in the javelin and third in the 100 hurdles.
The second and final day of the meet will be Saturday —
