Hall of Fame
• 1971 XULA graduate who gained his greatest fame as the boys
basketball head coach at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans from 1987-2005
• Coached St. Aug's Purple Knights to state championships in 1992, 1995 and 1999
• His 1994-95 St. Aug team was 37-1 and awarded a prep national championship by ESPN
• USA Today High School Boys Basketball Coach of the Year for the 1994-95 season
• 18-season record at St. Aug was 491-127 (.794) and included
13 Catholic League championships, 11 in a row
• His St. Aug players included future college standouts Torrey Andrews of Rice,
Pointer Williams of Tulane, Hollis Price of Oklahoma and Kerry Kittles of Villanova
• Played two seasons of basketball for the Gold Rush (1968-70) and
was 31-25 (.554) as the team's head coach over the 1976-77 and 1977-78 seasons
• Inducted into the Allstate Sugar Bowl Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame on July 24, 2021
• Men's basketball head coach for four seasons at XULA city rival Dillard (2011-15)
and an assistant for two seasons with the NBA's Dallas Mavericks (2005-07)
• Born in 1948
