• Head coach of men's basketball and director of athletics at XULA from 1978-90
• Program's first head coach to reach 200 victories
• Three-time Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year
• XULA career record of 212-129 (.622) in 12 seasons
• His teams reached 20 victories five times
• Won three GCAC regular-season championships, including the league's first two,
and a pair of NAIA District 30/GCAC Tournament championships
• Qualified twice for NAIA nationals
• His fourth XULA team was 29-2 and achieved the highest-ever Gold Rush seeding at NAIA nationals, No. 3
• Also served as XULA director of athletics, as chairman of the NAIA District 30 men's basketball committee
and as a rater/voter on the NAIA national poll
• Coached 2022 XULA hall-of-famers Alvin "Bo" Dukes and Kenny Loyd and 2023 inductee Derrick Collins
• Inducted into the Aquinas College Athletic Hall of Fame (basketball athlete) in 2005
• Died Sept. 6, 2016, at age 70
